TeberdaTeberda is located at altitude of 1260-1300m just in the valley of Teberda river and at junction of Jamagat and Muhu rivers which fall into it. Teberda is known as a town of resort and place of active tourism. Teberda tourist camp is the initial point of the tourist routes crossing the Teberda nature preserve and neighbouring territory. The most popular of them are leading to Shumka waterfall, narzan springs in the Goraly-Kol river canyon, around Kurl-Bashy (Peak over Lake), Bald and Small Hatipary mountains peaks, to Baduk, Murundgin, Hadgiby and Azgek lakes, to Kluhor pass, Dombay meadow, Alibek and other places. The basin of Teberda River is the territory of Government nature preserve activated in 1936. Its territory is about 69,5 thousands square hectares. Its north boundary comes through Muhu and Jamagat rivers and the south - through water-separating line of the Main Caucasus ridge from the Kluhor-Bashy peak to Djalov-Chat peak. The Arhyz forestry of Bolshoi Zelenchuk River basin is a part of Teberda nature preserve. The number of the glaciers here is about 85. There is the Teberda nature preserve museum that is located on the resort's territory. The most important fauna representatives here are: Caucasian noble deer, roe, wild boar, brown bear, marten, Caucasian otter, lynx, Caucasian big weasel, wild cat and the birds are as follows: woodpeckers, crossbills, bullfinches, griffon-vultures and golden eagles. Treatment advantagesThe most important salubrity factors of Teberda resort are the soft climate successful for the climate therapy all year long and mineral waters also. It had always attracted the scientists' attention. And in 1910 at the Russian physicians' conference, they had decided to learn the meteorology and physically geographical peculiarities of Teberda valley, to lay the foundation of mountainly climatic resort. The first sanatorium for the pulmonary tuberculosis illness in the private cottages was activated in 1925. And there were built a great number of sanatoriums here later on. ClimateIt was never sweltered heat there in Teberda river valley. The average temperature in July is about 16 °С and in January - minus 5°С. The air is very pure, limpid, highly ionizational and temperately moistened due to the mountainous valley circulation. |
